I have given up...

Well, I tried it for a month and I'm not sure if I'm the problem or if the single (sometimes) guys in Albuquerque are.  Granted, my standards are high, but I don't think they're that high.  A major problem on my part seems to be not wanting to date someone with kids.  Amazing how many of these guys (90%) either have kids or are feeling middle age approaching and wanting to create a mini-me asap.  I think if men had to actually be pregnant and give birth to those mini-me's and juggle work and taking care of the home and children, they would not be so eager to procreate.  Bitter?  Not really, just finally accepting that I don't understand.

Well, ever since I posted the following to my profile, I have received NO winks or e-mails.  Do you find that interesting? I do.
I am a happy, confident, independent, intelligent woman with a good sense of humor. I have a very full life; a great job, a nice place to live, and good friends. With my friends, I do all the “girly” things I enjoy doing; mainly shopping and the occasional manicure/pedicure. (Aren’t you glad you never have to do any of those things with me?) I feel the same way about not having to do “sporty” things with you, like going to the gym every day or on 80-mile bike rides, so I am hoping you have friends to do those things with.

I am looking for someone single, without kids, and who shares some of my interests. If you like movies, concerts, plays, museums, and things like that, we will have no problem finding fun things to do together. Also, it’s a plus if you like lounging by the pool during the summer months.

I know some of you have been anxiously awaiting posts about this, and I am here to tell you...it is dreadful, depressing and down-right pathetic, this on-line dating in Albuquerque.  Not only has it been a total bust, it has officially destroyed any hope I had in the bottom of my cold, dead heart of finding a suitable companion!
